Job Summary

As a Payments Analyst I II or III your role is pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate processing of various back office operational functions to ensure seamless execution and delivery of consumer and business payment services for WSECU this role youll be providing phone chat and email support to members and coworkers for operational technical and service-related needs. Youll be responsible for handling and following up to member and employee inquiries related to payment services. Youll be providing operational and technical support to internal and external members for ACH Zelle check processing Mobile Deposit Bill Pay Peer to Peer P2P Digital Currency Wire Processing GL Balancing Loan Payments and oversight and maintenance related to our core processing system Symitar. Your day may include:


  • Delivering outstanding service and support through responsive professional and positive interactions with co-workers members vendors and external parties via phone email chat and SharePoint.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships across the organization to foster collaboration support team objectives and respond positively to departmental and organizational changes.
  • Exhibiting a high level of integrity while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive member employee and organizational information.
  • Contributing to forward-thinking initiatives that improve operational accuracy efficiency risk management and the overall member experience.
  • Effectively managing inbound calls emails and service requests while balancing competing priorities and directly assisting members and credit union business lines.
  • Performing general ledger (GL) balancing reconciliation and research functions related to payment operations ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies and maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Performing a variety of support maintenance monitoring and operational tasks to ensure the effective delivery of Payment Systems Department functions and services.
  • Proactively prioritizing reprioritizing and adjusting daily workflows and responsibilities based on changing business needs operational demands deadlines and emerging issues.
  • Demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when processing transactions balancing accounts reviewing reports maintaining records and resolving exceptions.
  • Participating in business line networks user groups and cross-functional initiatives while upholding credit union standards for information sharing and collaboration.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes increase efficiencies and enhance controls within department operations partnering with leaders to evaluate and implement solutions when feasible.
  • Pursuing ongoing personal and professional development opportunities to maintain industry knowledge strengthen technical expertise and support team and organizational objectives.
  • Exercising sound judgment critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills to research issues mitigate operational risk and support effective decision-making.

For Payments Analyst I

Competitive pay for Payments Analyst I: $21.50 - $32.25 per hour dependent on relevant qualifications plus an annual discretionary incentive plan


  • The target starting pay for this position is $21.50 - $26.87 per hour typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicants pay history into account.

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a financial institution with preference given for experience in a back office operating area
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in customer service data and/or transaction analysis
  • Working knowledge of Reg D E NACHA rules and the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Excel Word Share Point and PDF Technologies
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and form recommendations

For Payments Analyst II

Competitive pay for Payments Analyst II: $24.05 - $36.07 per hour dependent on relevant qualifications plus an annual discretionary incentive plan

  • The target starting pay for this position is $24.05 - $30.06 per hour typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicants pay history into account.

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a financial institution with preference given for experience in a back office operating area
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in customer service data and/or transaction analysis
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience handling escalated and emotionally charged calls
  • Working knowledge of Reg D E NACHA rules and the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Excel Word Share Point and PDF Technologies
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and form recommendations

For Payments Analyst III

Competitive pay for Payments Analyst III: $27.25 - $40.88 per hour dependent on relevant qualifications plus an annual discretionary incentive plan

  • The target starting pay for this position is $27.25 - $34.06 per hour typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicants pay history into account.

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a financial institution with (3) years experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience processing ACH Drafts Electronic and Bill Payments
  • Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Excel Word Share Point and PDF Technologies
  • Advanced knowledge in Regulation D Regulation E
  • Working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and NACHA rules
  • Advanced experience with use of Symitar Application Enhancer and Federal Reserve
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and form recommendations

Payments Analyst III

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Business Administration or a closely related field
  • Experience with technical writing and documentation
  • Data analysis and dashboard creation
  • General ledger account reconciliation
  • Knowledge of the following platforms: Jack Henry Federal Reserve Centrix Profit Star Image Center FIS Application Enhancer SharePoint Fresh Services Paymentus Vanco

**WSECU is currently hiring a Payments Analyst I II or III dependent on qualifications**

  • The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increase during their tenure in the position.

Where were located: 330 Union Ave Olympia WA. Employees must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a hybrid position that blends working in-office and from home. Works onsite three (2) occasions per week.


Working from home/hybrid requirements:

  • Reliable high-speed home internet connection
  • Private confidential workspace away from distractions and other people
  • Suitable desk/surface and desk chair

When youd work: Monday - Friday 7:00 am 5:30 pm full time minimum 40 hours per week with scheduling flexibility to meet service needs for this non-exempt position
