Position Purpose:
Nursing Resource Pool:
Patient safety attendants perform specific patient care activities as assigned by the patients RN considering age specific developmental cultural and spiritual needs. They will be working with high risk suicide precaution patients.
Setting up food tray assist with eating
Assisting patient with basic hygiene needs (bathing brushing teeth)
Offering fluids
Accompanying patient on walks
Assisting patient to bathroom or chair
Providing Diversionary activities
Replacing nasal cannula
Re-applying intermittent compression devises (ICDs or SCDs)
Patient Safey Attendants will remain with and observe the assigned patient at all times. Patient must be in direct observation. Companions will arrange meal and break time with the patients nurse to ensure that the patient is never unattended.
Shifts Available: 3pm-11:30pm 11 pm-7:30am
Status Available: Full-time Part-time
Every Other Weekend and Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE
Education: High school diploma and CPR or BLS Certification
Experience: Able to maintain professionalism and self-control in difficult or stressful conditions.
