Job Summary

Overview

In support of the mission vision and values of Kennedy Krieger Institute the Patient Services Specialist performs routine front-end clinical operational activities such as registering/checking in patients cashiering gathering and providing appropriate information collecting co-pays and answering the phones under the direction of more senior Care Center staff. The incumbent will interact with patients families clinicians administrative staff and third-party payers and provide customer service in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities

1. Collect co-pays provide receipts and provide timely accounting for all collected cash and payments. Identify discrepancies and immediately work with the supervisor to resolve issues.


2. Obtain required information for both registration and financial documentation needed to complete the check-in process.


3. Answers phones directs calls as needed takes messages returns calls to answer inquiries/questions and provides accurate and timely follow-up.


4. Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments.


5. Maintain and update scheduling calendars.


6. Provide routine financial benefits.


7. Monitor Epic work que for tracking internal/external consults.


8. Maintain a general understanding of insurance requirements as they relate
to the Care Center.


9. Under general supervision perform advanced clerical or administrative tasks. Using varying methods process transactions and select or devise the steps necessary to complete all assignments.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High School diploma GED or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in customer service administrative support or other related area preferred.

Minimum pay range
USD $36955.98/Yr.
Maximum pay range
USD $60296.50/Yr.
