Responsibilities
Create a welcoming professional first impression for patients visitors and referral sources
Manage front desk operations including patient check-in check-out scheduling insurance verification/authorization and phone calls
Review schedule and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information creating or updating patient records and helping patients understand next steps
Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments working waitlists filling cancellations and following up with patients who need future visits
Collect copays balances and other patient payments accurately and professionally including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation
Qualifications
You dont need a healthcare background to be great in this role but you do need to be someone who genuinely enjoys helping people thrives in a busy environment and takes ownership of your work. If youve worked in any customer-facing role and want to build a career in healthcare we want to hear from you.
High School Diploma or GED required
1 year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role this could include retail hospitality call center medical reception or any setting where you regularly interacted with the public in person or over the phone
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone including handling upset or frustrated callers with patience and professionalism
Basic computer proficiency: comfortable learning new systems navigating scheduling software sending emails and working in spreadsheets
No prior medical experience required we provide comprehensive training including EMR navigation insurance fundamentals scheduling workflows and phone etiquette
About
Compensation: $19.00 per hour based on experience.
Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
