Patient Champion: Remote Healthcare Student Position
Grapefruit Health Remote U.S. Part-time Flexible Spanish Speaking Students Only
Grapefruit Health is a healthcare services company on a mission to solve the growing staffing shortage in healthcare by putting tomorrows clinicians to work today. We train and manage clinical students to conduct remote telephonic patient interactions using our purpose-built software. The result: patients receive timely support healthcare organizations extend their capacity and you gain real clinical experience before you graduate.
As a GFH Patient Champion youll conduct structured phone-based interactions with patients on behalf of our partner healthcare organizations. Using our software youll follow evidence-informed protocols to check in on patients complete assessments and escalate concerns when needed all from a quiet space of your choosing. Youll work with patients experiencing different disease states preventative care needs medication use post-discharge follow-up needs etc. All interactions are telephonic; no video no in-person contact required. Must be based in the U.S. and a U.S. citizen.
Complete a minimum of 6 hours of patient outreach per week on a schedule you build around your coursework
Conduct structured telephonic assessments and wellness check-ins using The Grove (Grapefruit Healths platform)
Document interaction outcomes accurately within the platform
Escalate patient safety concerns to a licensed clinical supervisor in real time
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
Participate in onboarding training and ongoing check-ins
All new student hires complete a 14 day onboarding covering our platform communication frameworks and HIPAA requirements. Once active youll be supervised by our Clinical Leadership Team who are available during your shifts for escalations and support.
Verifiable healthcare experience for your resume before graduation
Confidence and fluency in patient communication
Familiarity with a real clinical software used in professional settings
The satisfaction of genuinely improving patient outcomes
U.S. based required and U.S. citizen
MUST be fluent in speaking and understanding Spanish
Must be actively enrolled in a healthcare program at a college/university: nursing pharmacy social work medical assisting dietitians CNA or similar
Must have a compatible computer and cell phone with SMS
Must be able to work at least 6 hours/week
A quiet private workspace free of background noise or distractions
Strong verbal communication skills or a genuine desire to develop them
Comfort working independently in a remote environment
Reliable availability for a minimum of 6 hours per week
