Job Overview

As a Patient Care Technician on the Med Surg unit youll work closely with nurses to provide handsâon care for patients throughout their hospital stay. Youll assist with hygiene mobility vital signs documentation and compassionate bedside support including care for patients nearing end of life. The wide range of diagnoses on Med Surg makes this unit an excellent place to build strong clinical skills and confidence.

What Youll Do

  • Provide direct patient care including bathing oral care toileting and linens
  • Support safe mobility including repositioning and transfers
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Document patient information accurately
  • This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations
  • Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

About the Med Surg Unit

This 23âbed unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical needs including respiratory illnesses cardiac conditions and complex infections. Its a supportive teamâfocused environment where youll learn quickly develop strong clinical skills and feel backed by experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of required PCT classes for the unit
