Are you passionate about patient care and looking for an opportunity to build valuable clinical experience in a highly specialized healthcare environment As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on our Heart Floor at The Heart Hospital at Deaconess Gateway youll be an essential member of a collaborative care team dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiovascular care.

Working alongside experienced nurses and healthcare professionals youll provide hands-on support that directly impacts patient comfort recovery and overall experience. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting patients with daily personal care needs such as bathing oral hygiene toileting and linen changes
• Supporting patient mobility transfers ambulation and repositioning to promote safety and recovery
• Monitoring and documenting vital signs and other important patient information
• Accurately recording observations in patient charts to support quality care
• Providing compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout their healthcare journey

The Heart Floor at The Heart Hospital at Deaconess Gateway is a premier 24-bed cardiovascular unit dedicated to caring for both medical and surgical cardiac patients. This is an excellent environment for those interested in gaining exposure to advanced cardiac care and expanding their clinical knowledge.

• Care for a diverse range of cardiovascular conditions and procedures including heart attacks chest pain angioplasties (PTCA) open-heart surgery abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) carotid procedures thoracic surgeries and more
• Three levels of patient care within one unit: Telemetry Step-Down and Critical Care
• Advanced monitoring capabilities in every patient room
• A unique patient-centered model where open-heart surgery patients remain in the same room from admission through discharge allowing caregivers to build stronger patient relationships and continuity of care
• Early involvement in cardiac rehabilitation and recovery processes
• Opportunities to work alongside highly skilled cardiovascular specialists and interdisciplinary teams

Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within six months of hire
