- Register new patients and accurately collect demographic insurance and financial information
- Schedule reschedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems
- Verify patient insurance eligibility benefits deductibles copayments coinsurance and coverage limitations before treatment
- Obtain and track prior authorizations referrals and precertifications to ensure timely patient care
- Notify patients of insurance benefits estimated financial responsibility and any authorization requirements.
- Collect copayments balances and process patient payments according to office procedures
- Communicate effectively with therapists regarding scheduling needs and patient concerns
- Answer multi-line phones and respond promptly to patient inquiries
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of medical front office medical receptionist or healthcare administrative experience preferred
- Experience verifying insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Strong computer and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care
