Patient Care Assistant Older Adult and Stroke Unit

Department: 10 East Older Adult/Stroke Unit (PCU)

Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Minimum rate of pay: 16.00 PLUS Daily PAY

Position Purpose:

The PCA under the direction of a registered nurse is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific developmental cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.

Shifts Available: 10:30pm-7:00am

Status Available: Part-time

Every Other Weekend and Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE

• High school diploma or GED
• Recent experience desired

What you will do:

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCA assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing showering toileting positioning turning transferring ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
• Medical progressive care unit specializing in the care of diagnoses including: renal stroke seizure with continuous EEG monitoring.
• This unit currently houses our COVID-19 population.
