Patient Access Representative

Marshalltown Hospital

Shift: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; Monday-Thursday 11:30pm-8:00am alternating weekend 5:30pm-2:00am alternating holidays 6:30pm-7:00am

Wereseeking a Patient Access Representative to support a smoothaccurate and welcoming experience for patients and visitors. This role plays a keypartin patient admission registration insurance verification and scheduling ensuring every interaction is efficient and compliant with financial and insurance requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately collect analyze and record demographic insurance financial and clinical data in the system ensuring all required documentation is complete.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of insurance plans and verification processes.
  • Answer and route phone calls professionally; takeaccuratemessages.
  • Educate patients on financial obligations includingpoint of service (POS)collections and estimates.
  • Assistwith patientselfserviceregistration processes.
  • Monitor and manage multiple work queues to ensuretimelyworkflow.
  • Refer patients who need financialassistancewith their clinic/hospital bills to a Financial Advocate
  • Schedulewalk in procedures and collaborate with central schedulingregardingother needs
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • At least two years of customer serviceorhealthcare related experienceis preferred.
