Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Register patients and verify demographic information
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Verify insurance information and eligibility
- Collect required forms identification and patient information
- Answer incoming calls and direct patient questions appropriately
- Enter and update information in electronic health record systems
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Follow HIPAA and organizational privacy requirements
- Assist clinical and administrative staff with basic front-office duties
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current HIPAA training certificate required
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Comfortable working with patients in a healthcare environment
- Ability to learn electronic health record and scheduling systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service receptionist healthcare or office experience
- Familiarity with insurance verification or medical terminology
- Experience using an electronic health record system
