We boast two primary care locations and 6 school-based health centers providing quality value-based care for over 20000 patients. We provide services in Primary Care Infectious Disease Substance Use Integrated Behavioral Health Dental Services Womens Health and Pharmacy.
Position Summary:
The Patient Access Manager is responsible for the daily oversight and coordination of patient access operations including registration insurance verification eligibility screening financial intake and enrollment assistance services. This role provides direct supervision and leadership to patient access staff to promote consistent workflows quality customer service accurate patient data collection and efficient front-end operations.
The Manager serves as a day-to-day operational resource for staff by providing guidance training workflow support and front-line assistance as needed. This position collaborates with clinical finance billing and operational teams to address patient access concerns improve front-end workflows and support effective revenue cycle processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to patient access staff including performance management coaching development and accountability.
- Manage daily patient access operations including staffing coverage workload distribution and operational support across assigned functions.
- Oversee registration insurance verification eligibility screening financial intake and enrollment activities to ensure timely accurate and consistent service delivery.
- Establish and maintain standardized processes and expectations across patient access functions to promote operational consistency and an effective patient experience.
- Monitor the accuracy and integrity of patient demographic insurance eligibility income and financial information and address trends or deficiencies affecting data quality.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex patient access eligibility insurance and service-related concerns.
- Monitor departmental performance and key operational indicators identify barriers and trends and implement improvements to strengthen access efficiency and front-end revenue cycle performance.
- Collaborate with clinical billing finance and operational teams to address cross-functional issues and ensure effective coordination of patient access activities.
- Develop and maintain staff competency through onboarding training ongoing education and assessment of established processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years of experience with patient registration eligibility services healthcare front office operations or related healthcare support functions preferably within a community health center or FQHC
Preferred
- Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Experience working with NextGen and/or Epic electronic health record
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
