About the Pastor

The Pastor at Woodland Bible Church will work closely with the board of elders to provide spiritual leadership shepherd the congregation and lead the church in fulfilling its mission to proclaim the Gospel and disciple believers. The role involves preaching teaching pastoral care and collaborating with the elders in church administration decision-making and vision casting.

The Pastors responsibilities include:

Preaching and Teaching:

• Prepare and deliver weekly sermons that align with biblical principles and the theological vision of the church.
• Teach Bible studies discipleship classes and other educational programs.
• Ensure that the preaching and teaching foster spiritual growth and align with Woodland Bible Churchs doctrinal beliefs.

Pastoral Care:

• Provide counseling and spiritual guidance to church members including visits to the sick elderly and those in crisis.
• Lead weddings funerals baptisms and other significant church ceremonies.
• Offer support and encouragement to the congregation fostering a caring community atmosphere.

Elder Collaboration:

• Work alongside the elders to uphold the vision mission and theological direction of Woodland Bible Church.
• Participate in elder meetings providing input on spiritual and administrative decisions.
• Serve as a spiritual guide for the elder team ensuring biblically grounded leadership within the church.

Church Leadership:

• Oversee the planning and execution of church services events and programs.
• Support ministry leaders and volunteers in their roles equipping them for effective ministry.
• Work with the elders to develop and implement church growth strategies missions and outreach.

Community Engagement:

• Represent Woodland Bible Church within the local community building relationships and engaging in outreach efforts.
• Encourage congregational involvement in missions community service and evangelism.

Administration:

• Assist in budget planning financial stewardship and administrative duties in collaboration with the elders.
• Oversee church communications including newsletters social media and other platforms to maintain effective communication with members.

Education and experience

• A bachelors degree is desired and a seminary degree is a plus
• 5 years of applicable experience

Personal characteristics and qualifications

• A deep commitment to the Bibles authority and the core doctrines of the Christian faith. Experience in a pastoral ministry or leadership within a church setting.
• Ability to preach and teach effectively with a heart for discipleship.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for pastoral care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the elders and church members.
