Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Counseling Clinical Social Work or Psychology required.
- Experience working in schools within a multicultural diverse urban community.
- Must have an active and valid registration with BBS
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices required.
- Experience with Medi-Cal paperwork preferred.
- Experience and commitment to collaborating with parents teachers and school staff.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to and strong belief in the mission of the agency.
- Ability to maintain goals and priorities in dealing with varying challenges.
- Ability to be flexible in working with people and organizations with different viewpoints.
- Enjoy participating and positively impacting school culture being a proactive engaged mental health leader mediating and advocating on behalf of children and families. Enjoy and thrive collaborating in a complex culturally rich community system.
Preferred:
- Licensed or close to licensure preferred.
- Spanish-speaking capacity a plus
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma-informed strengths-based individual group and family mental health services family consultation and case consultation.
- Provide relevant school-focused behavioral health services including but not limited to:
- Participate in the schools intervention teams (e.g. CARE teams)
- Provide crisis intervention and trauma response as needed.
- Provide family psychoeducation opportunities as needed.
- Consult with school administration faculty and staff on specific youth and families and on school mental health issues in general. Participate in SST IEP meetings.
- Work with school staff administrators Community School Coordinators other providers and parents to coordinate services.
- Provide services to clients in an ethical legal and professional manner including HIPAA CAMFT and NASW standards.
- Humility in cultural issues related to race ethnicity nationality class religion and sexual orientation required.
Job Summary:
Providing trauma-informed mental health prevention and intervention services in a culturally diverse school in Crockett three days per week (24 hrs/wk). This will be a hybrid position (that bills both to Medi-Cal and non Medi-Cal). We are looking for a strong skilled clinician who can bring engaged psychological emotional and behavioral support to students and their families in a fast-paced environment while also becoming an integral part of the school culture.
