Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Teaching engineering and mechatronics classes on the RELLIS Brenham and Waller campuses and online.
Principal Accountabilities
Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement student successand instructional excellence.
Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies andutilize a variety of instructional delivery methods classroom media and educational resources.
Advise students in academic matters.
Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measureprogress while informing students in a timely manner.
Assist in the development distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean Assistant DeanDepartment Heads and Curriculum Resource Teams regardingcurriculum.
Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students colleagues college administration and the community.
Provide information requested of all faculty.
Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriatedivisions/departments.
Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation inprofessional development activities.
Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and orally.
Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings.
Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree License or Certifications
Masters degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours inengineering.
All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Competencies
Teaching Experience (either at the college or secondary level)
Clearly explaining concepts active listening and providing constructive immediate feedback.
Creating a positive safe and collaborative learning environment that encourages student participation and self-management.
Maintaining subject-matter expertise engaging in continuous professional development and demonstrating cultural competence.
Preferred Qualifications
Online teaching experience.
College teaching experience.
In addition to a Masters degree in Engineering a Masters degree or 18graduate-level hours in either Computer Science or Mathematics.
Licensed Professional Engineer
