Job Summary

A Part-Time EDUC 1300Instructorprovidesin-personcollege-level instruction to studentsenrolled on the Brenham Campus. The instructor will perform the day-to-dayoperations of the instructional program and teach courses as scheduled.

PrincipalAccountabilities

BlinnCollege expects all faculty members todemonstratea commitment tostudentengagement student success and instructional excellence. The essential dutiesof allfaculty are as follows:

Instructionand Classroom Management

  • Teach EDUC 1300courses following approved curriculum and college standards.
  • Maintain access to students through office hours and electronic communication.
  • Prepare maintainand utilizean accuratecourse syllabusin Concourseand assessments for eachcourse using guidelinesestablishedby the institution.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods classroom media and educational resources.
  • Monitor student progress attendance andmaintainaccuraterecords per ISD and Blinn College requirements.
  • Conduct classes and final exams punctually andin accordance withthe prescribed meeting schedule.

StudentSuccess

Advise or refer students to available academic support advising andcounselingservices.

Maintaina positive and professional relationship withstudents.

AssessmentDuties

Hold sole responsibility to assess students performances through a range offormativeand summative assessments and provide constructive feedbackin a timelymanner.

Assistin the developmentdistributionand collection ofassessments for courses andprogramobjectives.

ProfessionalDevelopment and Service

Exhibita commitment to lifelong learning through participation inprofessionaldevelopment opportunities and effective teaching methodologies.

Actively engage in collegial activities in a professional manner across thedepartmentcollege and communities such as departmental meetings committees and BlinnCollege partner collaborations.

InstitutionalResponsibilities

Submittimelycollege reports and forms totheappropriate divisions.

Comply withall college policies and procedures.

Exhibiteffective communication skills both written andoral.

Attend college orientationsrequiredinstitutional meetingsandtrainings.

Performother related duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree License or Certifications

Mastersdegree inEducation Psychology orCounseling
or
Masters degree with 18 graduate hours in Education Psychology orCounseling.

Minimum Competencies

Must be able to teach in person to students enrolled on the Brenham Campus.


Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience teaching or working with dual credithigh school students
2. Experience with adaptive learning software and D2L Brightspace(eCampus)
