Part-time Independent Living Skills (ILS) Specialist

What does an ILS Specialist do

The role of theProgram Specialistworking intheIndependent Living Services (ILS)department is to guide people to greater independence in their homes and community through practical training and mentorship.

You will work with adultsone-on-onewho have set goals to achieve specializing your coaching and training to their individual needs.

Specialized coaching could be in the following areas:

• Money management: staying on budget/creating budgets

• Outdoor activities: fishing walking going to the park etc.

• Community/ social confidence: seeking new connections attending community events gaining self confidence in social environments

• Cooking skills: food prep cooking temperatures cutting chopping food storage kitchen safety

• Cleaning/ basic home maintenance: laundry sweeping mopping dusting mopping

• Self-advocatingskills: gaining confidence to use their voice based on their values and personal preference

• Healthcare first aid medication pick up

• Personal safety/ mobility skills

• Anyadditionalpersonalized goals

Flexible Schedule:Youllbe matched with 1-3 people tosupportwithperson-centered goals. Scheduled hours are Monday Friday betweenthe hours of 8:30 am and 6:00 pm.

Pay Rate:$18.25 per hour

Part-time:14-29hours a week to startpotential for more in the future.

Service locations:Chico and ParadiseCalifornia

The ideal candidate would:

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age.

• Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).

• Ability to pass a driving record check.

• Safe and reliable transportation with a valid drivers license and auto insurance.

• TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.

Pay Scale:

Starting rate: $18.25 per hour

Maximum Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour based on years of experience at Mainsl.
