JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Pennsylvania State University Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) University Park has openings for two part-time Clinical Service Provider positions beginning August 10 2026. Hours worked are 16 to 24 hours per week during the academic year only and are fully in-person.
Responsibilities include providing short-term individual therapy phone triage and urgent assessment/stabilization/follow-up. Supervision is provided for a successful applicant who wants to accrue supervised hours toward licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Candidates should have the ability to provide services to a wide range of students.All clinicians on our staff perform their duties while adhering to and promoting trauma-informed care and healing-centered approaches and principles in alignment with the establishment of the Commonwealth of PA as a trauma-informed healing centered state.
A minimum of a masters degree in social work counseling or a related discipline is required. Licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Clinical Social Worker Professional Counselor or Psychologist is required. Current licensure as a Professional Counselor Clinical Social Worker or Psychologist is preferred.
State College PA a university town with a population of 105000 (which includes the State College borough and surrounding townships) was recently cited as one of the top university towns in the United States. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are 3 to 4 hours from State College and Baltimore is about 3 hours. State College and the university provide the major intellectual cultural and recreational resources for central Pennsylvania.
