Part-time Athletics Commentator for Video Streams

Duties And Responsibilities
The Athletics Department is accepting applications for a part-time Gameday Commentator for video streams throughout the season. The qualified candidate selected for this position will assist in the following capacities: Will serve as play-by-play commentator for video streaming events for home contests. Will comply with all NCAA Division II and Gulf South Conference rules regulations and policies. Will interact professionally with all officials coaches student-athletes University personnel and spectators attending the games. Come be a part of the AUM Warhawks game management team and enhance the experience of the game day atmosphere at AUM Athletics events. Requirements: Serve as required play-by-play commentary for AUM Athletics events on the Flo Sports Video Platform. Prepare relevant notes about each team for the contest. Remain neutral in commentary and be respectful of each team. Assist with broadcast by switching to different camera angles when necessary. Must be reliable and available to work nights and weekends. This position will arrive to the venue 30 minutes to an hour prior to the scheduled contest to ensure all interviews are loaded and equipment is working and will remain until event has concluded. Additional Details: AUM Athletics will stream all of our home games for the 24- 25 season but with a new Gulf South Conference agreement with Flo Sports is required to provide play-by play commentary for the sports of volleyball and basketball with recommendations to provide commentary for soccer baseball and softball. We would like to employ a play-by-play announcer for all of our home contests for the sports of mens and womens soccer mens and womens basketball volleyball baseball and total this would cover 108 home events during the 2024-25 year. If we earn the right to host postseason play the total requested will also allow us to provide the same required commentary for those contests. This request is being submitted in relation to the attached this position a professional is strong encouraged and would be best-served to have a non-Athletics staff member or non-student serving in the role. The requested rate for this position is less than the going rate confirmed by the Gulf South Conference for its championships. Additionally surrounding schools such as Auburn Alabama Troy and Alabama State are all considerably more expensive for this talent position. The requested hourly breakdown per sport would not exceed 55 hours for the volleyball season 55 hours for the soccer season 85 hours for the basketball season 85 hours for the baseball season and 55 hours for the softball season.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma Available on nights and weekends Minimum of one (1) year experience as video play-by-play at NCAA NAIA NJCAA AHSAA or AISA institution Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree Two (2) years experience as play-by-play commentator at NCAA institution
