Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is the states lead conservation agency and it takes a diverse agency to conserve resources for a diverse commonwealth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Skill in the use of a personal computer.
  • Skill in evaluating the quality and quantity of report personnel as well as providing performance feedback to direct report personnel.
  • Skill in overseeing the safe use of tools material and equipment associated with landscape and building maintenance.
  • Skill in leading work requiring the performance of plumbing carpentry painting and grounds keeping tasks.
  • As applicable ability to physically meet the requirements of Park Ranger and perform labor related to tasks in this position description.

Additional Considerations

  • Demonstrated experience in the supervising of grounds keeping housekeeping maintenance construction or other work related to upkeep and operation of recreational areas.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Experience overseeing workplace safety OSHA compliance and safety training.
  • Previous work experience withinparks and recreation or similar environment.
  • Previous work experience which demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to compose emails correspondence and reports.
