About The Role
Assists teachers in district classrooms for the cognitively impaired and/or physically impaired by
performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education programs and
positive behavioral support.
Assists in daily classroom routines and facilitates students participation in all activities including but not limited to: self-care mobility ambulation defined health procedures and swimming.
Implements classroom and/or individual student behavior intervention strategies under the direction of classroom teachers.
May operate various lifts instructional or adaptive equipment and assistive technology devices.
About You
High school graduate or GED recipient.
Prefer 2 years successful experience as a paraprofessional in a program for youth with physical and/or cognitive impairments or equivalent experience.
Demonstrates continuous learning as it relates to instructional behavioral and therapeutic interventions for assigned students.
