Job Summary
Schedule: 24 on/48 off
As a Paramedic you will provide advanced emergency medical care and transport to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings.
Every day you will rapidly assess scenes evaluate conditions and administer life-saving interventions while safely operating emergency vehicles and documenting care.
To be successful you will demonstrate expert clinical skills exceptional critical thinking under stress and compassionate communication ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- The Paramedic will provide emergency medical treatment and transport to the sick and injured under his care in accordance with all applicable laws and department protocols and procedures.
- The Paramedic will document all patient care performed in the approved Patient Care Report program using the required format.
- The Paramedic will ensure that all required paperwork is completed and turned in by the end of shift.
- The Paramedic will ensure that his/her equipment is in a state of readiness and cleanliness at the beginning of each shift and their ambulance is fully stocked in accordance with departmental procedures.
- The Paramedic will report any deficiencies and/or mechanical issues with their supplies equipment or vehicle to a supervisor in a timely fashion. They will restock the unit as necessary.
- The Paramedic will attend any required education that is deemed necessary by the Director or the Medical Director.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of Paramedic Science upon hire and
- Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: GA upon hire and
- Drivers License: GA upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire and
Preferred
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Course and
- Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire and
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course upon hire and
- Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals upon hire and
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support upon hire
