Job Summary
Position Highlights:
- Shift: Wed-Fri 3p-3a 12-hour shifts. Work 36 hours per week and get paid for 40 hours. Must be available to train on day shift for two months

Paramedic will need:
- Current Paramedic license from the State of Michigan.
- Current certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support) and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
- Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy values mission and vision of MH.
Paramedic will do:
- Assesses nature and extent of illness of injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance.
- Restores and stabilizes heart rhythm on pulseless non-breathing patients.
- Monitors cardiac patient.
- Initiates intravenous fluids to administer medication or drugs or to replace fluids lacking in the body.
- Performs endotracheal intubation to open airways and ventilate patient.
- Administers injections of medications drugs or immunization.
- Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patients vital signs.
- Provide medical examination and screening of patients consistent with Medical Control Authority Protocols.
- Assists in extricating trapped victims and transports sick and injured persons to treatment center
- Lifts and places patients on stretcher restrains patient appropriately lifts and moves patient to stretcher lifts and moves loaded stretcher into ambulance.
- Observes records and reports to physician patients condition and reaction to drugs treatments and significant incidents.
- Remains in the back of the ambulance with all patients they are taking care of.
- Coordinates patient care between inter-agency (ie. Fire and Police) personnel and other company employees.
- Communicates with Physician and other medical personnel via radio or telephone.
- Completes all reports including patient care records legibly accurately and on a timely basis.
- Performs all duties in a safe courteous confidential and professional manner always taking into account the well-being of the patient.
- Maintains response readiness consistent with companys response criteria.
- Uses safety and PPE equipment as required by law and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
