Responsibilities:
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to personal care activities of daily living vital signs intake and output ambulation initiation of peripheral intravenous phlebotomy eye irrigation urinary catheterization interventions and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of licensed caregiver. Duties may include administrating medications under the supervision of licensed personnel in accordance with approved medication list. Assisting with patient transport maintaining a safe environment by cleaning equipment stocking supplies and turning over rooms as required. Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.
- Assists observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered. Reinforces patient education under the direction of licensed personnel to ensure the continuum of care.
- Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients families caregivers or health care team members. After training may answer patch phone under the direction of licensed caregiver.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Other Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25 Articles 2 4 and 5 are required. Required
- 1 year Associate Degree Diploma or bachelors degree in pre-hospital/emergency medical service CCEMT Preferred
- Certified Paramedic - Certification ADHS Paramedic Certification or Arizona State Certified Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Certification Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Certification 180 Days Required
