Job Summary
Paralegal Trusts and EstatesLocation: Bantam Hartford or Stamford CT (Hybrid)Do you have trusts and estates experience Are you excited about the opportunity to join an innovative growing law firm that has been successful for more than 165 years Harris Beach Murtha is in search of a Paralegal to join our Trusts & Estates practice group in one of the following offices: Bantam Hartford or Stamford CT. You will thrive in this role if you have:1 years of experience as a trusts and estates paralegal required 3 years of experience preferredExperience preparing court filings estate and fiduciary accountings and tax returns (including Formsand related Connecticut forms)Experience with Connecticut Probate Court filings (New York experience a plus)The ability to assist with estate administration including asset inventory valuation distribution and probate documentationStrong organizational analytical and proofreading skills to ensure accuracy of legal documentsThe ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExceptional oral and written communication skills with a client-focused approachProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook); experience with fiduciary income tax preparation and fiduciary accounting software a plusA positive professional attitude when working with colleagues and clientsA Notary Public license (or willingness to obtain one after hire)The Trusts & Estates team needs a Paralegal to support attorneys with a wide range of estate planning and administration matters. Do you have the drive and desire to:Draft and finalize estate planning documents including wills trusts and powers of attorney in accordance with attorney directionPrepare and file probate documents fiduciary accountings and related court filingsAssist with estate and trust administration including asset tracking funding and beneficiary communicationsConduct legal research related to trusts estates tax regulations and case lawCommunicate with clients to gather information provide updates and respond to inquiriesOrganize and maintain physical and electronic files to ensure accessibility and accuracySupport attorneys with case management and day-to-day administrative needsPerform additional duties as assignedHarris Beach Murtha recognizes everyone has a right to be included.
