Position Overview: The in-house Paralegal supports Pikes legal corporate and licensing departments with a broad range of matters. The role works directly with in-house counsel and collaborates with project management procurement operations HR and finance teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented and experienced in a fast-paced legal environment. Experience in the construction industry and/or with handling third-party auto and property claims workers compensation claims and insurance matters are a plus. The role will also support a variety of administrative duties.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support legal department in overseeing and assisting with litigation discovery process claims and litigations reports and monitoring reviewing loss runs and large loss and erosion tracking.
- Research licensing regulations compile licensing applications monitor deadlines for compliance.
- Review and redline subcontractor and client contracts to support legal department and bid review teams.
- Assist with organization of contracts database.
- Organize and maintain licensing database.
- General administrative support including but not limited to data entry phone support meeting notices webinars etc.
Minimum Requirements:
Associates degree in Business Administration; or
- Five years of prior work experience in a law firm or corporate law department
- Paralegal certification required
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Power Point
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think creatively highly-driven and self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.
Prepare correspondence memos and other confidential communications
Desired Qualifications:
- 2 or 4-year degree
- Paralegal certification
- 5 years experience with client and/or supplier/subcontractor contracts.
- Proficient in contract standards and terminology.
