Role : Palo Alto SME

Location : Remote

Duration : 12 Months

Rate $75 to $80/hr

This role will focus on Palo Alto 5450 series firewalls within a large mature operational team as well as cloud-native security deployments in AWS environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience across both on-prem (Panorama-managed) and cloud-managed (Strata Cloud Manager / Prisma) Palo Alto ecosystems. Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Palo Alto SME supporting enterprise-scale firewall infrastructure
• Manage and optimize Palo Alto PA-5450 firewalls in a data center environment
• Support and enhance next-generation firewall deployments in AWS cloud environments
• Administer and maintain Panorama (on-prem) for centralized firewall management
• Work with Strata Cloud Manager including exposure to Palo Alto DLP capabilities (nice to have)
• Support GlobalProtect VPN deployments managed through Prisma Access
• Collaborate with a large engineering and operations team to troubleshoot optimize and scale firewall infrastructure
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across hybrid on-prem/cloud environments
• Assist in implementing security best practices segmentation and policy optimization Qualifications:
• 7 years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Strong experience with PA-5400 series (specifically 5450s) in enterprise data centers
• Proven experience with next-generation firewalls deployed in AWS environments
• Experience managing firewalls in both:
  • On-prem via Panorama
  • Cloud-managed via Strata Cloud Manager / Prisma
• Hands-on experience with GlobalProtect VPN solutions
• Familiarity with Palo Alto Prisma Access (or similar cloud-delivered security services)
• Exposure to Palo Alto DLP (Strata Cloud Manager) is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience in large complex environments
• Ability to work effectively within large distributed teams Tools and Technologies:
• Palo Alto Networks (PA-5450 series NGFW)
• Panorama (on-prem management)
• Strata Cloud Manager
• Prisma Access (GlobalProtect VPN)
• AWS (cloud firewall deployments)
