Palo Alto Resident Engineer

For Palo Alto Resident Engineer. There is a multi-year ZTNA rollout that they are working on (among a few other projects) and they need support. Really looking for someone security focused within Palo Alto. Strata Cloud Manager (SCM) is going to be key as well as AWS experience.

We are seeking an experienced Palo Alto Resident Engineer to support the design deployment optimization and operational management of enterprise network environments utilizing Palo Alto technologies. This role is responsible for delivering secure scalable and high-performing network solutions across distributed hybrid and cloud-based environments.

The ideal candidate possesses strong network engineering expertise hands-on experience with Palo Alto architectures and a security-focused approach to modernizing traditional network infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

Security Integration

• Implement network segmentation access controls and security policies across Palo Alto environments.
• Support integration with:
  • Cloud-delivered security services
  • Palo Alto Prisma Access
  • Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure adherence to enterprise security standards and best practices.
• Assist in securing application traffic and user access across distributed environments.

Prisma Access and Cloud Security Engineering

• Experience supporting secure cloud networking architectures within AWS.
• Familiarity with VPCs Transit Gateway Security Groups Route Tables Site-to-Site VPNs and cloud security best practices.
• Experience integrating Palo Alto security platforms with cloud-native services.
• Design deploy configure and maintain Palo Alto Prisma environments.
• Implement and manage IPSec VPNs GRE tunnels and secure site-to-site connectivity.
• Validate network performance and ensure successful deployment across enterprise locations.

Automation & Platform Integration

• Develop automation solutions for:
  • Device provisioning
  • Configuration management
  • Monitoring and alerting
• Utilize scripting and APIs to streamline operational processes.
• Support infrastructure-as-code and network automation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 3 7 years of network engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting Palo Alto and/or SASE environments.
• Strong background in enterprise networking and network security.
• Experience supporting geographically distributed enterprise networks.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with:
  • StrataCloud Manager (SCM)
  • Palo Alto Prisma
  • Routing protocols (BGP OSPF)
  • VPN technologies (IPSec GRE)
  • TCP/IP LAN/WAN DNS DHCP
• Knowledge of network segmentation and security best practices.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux-based systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Prisma Access and SASE architectures.
• Understanding of Zero Trust security models.
• Experience with network observability and monitoring platforms.

Preferred Certifications

• PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer)
• CCNP Enterprise
• AWS Azure or GCP Networking Certifications

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.
