The specialist shall complete operational daily checks and monitor all systems to specification. Major Tasks Responsibilities & Key AccountabilitiesAnalyse and optimise paint shop equipment including powder equipment pre-treatment washers shotblast machines and cure systemsVerify and report on process parametersSupport daily operations by troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating with maintenance and production root cause analysis and corrective actions for paint defects corrosion risks and process and manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor paint process stability identify variation trends and drive continuous quality and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions for paint-related in capital project planning including ROI justification equipment specification and vendor training and onboarding of paint technicians and in cross-functional teams to improve paint system performance and reduce trends and report effectively to senior leadersPerform qualitative inspection of daily samples within the paint shop outputComplete daily risk assessmentAccountable for paint shop emissions & utility performanceCompile daily weekly and monthly reportsDevelop and maintain visual management boardsTake responsibility for the physical appearance and safety of the workplace Enforce Health and Safety requirements and meet objectivesOperate and monitor a system of work that is safe to the Environment within permissible limitsEnsure all direct activities have a relevant Standard Operating ProcedureActively pursue the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniquesLiaise with suppliers on quality delivery performance safety and costOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThree years of experience in a supervisory/team leader roleExperience with lean manufacturing Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies.3 years of experience in paint or surface finishing understanding of powder coating systems shot blast operations and chemical wash with environmental and safety regulations related to paint pass any drug screens background checks and any pre-employment tests which will be conducted in accordance with applicable QualificationsBachelors degree in a related technical fieldKnowledge Skills Abilities & CompetenciesExperience with corrosion prevention and control planningProficiency in CAD process simulation and data analysis toolsPrior involvement in capital equipment selection and commissioningAbility to powder coat and understanding pre-treatment operations in a coating production systemMonitor and operate turbine Shotblast equipmentTend and operate manual & automated powder reciprocators and conduct colour changesProficient in the use of slinging & lifting tools and proceduresOSHA-10 trainedProficient in the use of chemical hazard assessment & handlingProficient with Microsoft suite including Word PowerPoint & Excel Ensure TPM preuse and daily checks are completedEffective time management and planning skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsArticulate problem solutions to senior leadersInvestigate problems and listen to associatesAbility to motivate staff and deliver resultsAbility to influence and manage change within the businessPromote creative problem solving and continuous improvementMust wear Personal Protective Equipment as requiredJob ConditionsManufacturing/factory environment.
