Job Summary
Work Schedule: M-F 4 PM - 2:30 AM*This schedule reflects current business demand and is subject to change at any hired you will be required to complete your training courses before coming to the shop day of Orientation would be from 9 am -4:30pmAfter first day you will be able to come in at 6 am to continue your online on the shop floor you will spend the next 3 weeks of training on day shift with the day shift paint determined you will be able to start your normal shiftPaint Assistants support the painting operations for aircraft components and structures ensuring all surfaces are properly prepared and finished to meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and a strong commitment to quality and role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship orAn individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e. a Green Card holder) orAn individual who is granted status as a protected personEssential FunctionsTo accomplish this job an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential surfaces for painting by cleaning sanding and priming as paints primers and other coatings according to specifications and manufacturers test such as viscosity on mixed and maintain pot life stickers for each paint and clean painting tools equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient safety procedures are followed at all in moving and arranging materials and quality checks on painted surfaces to ensure compliance with industry standards and with inventory management and ordering supplies as proper adhesion of paint and coatings by performing surface preparation tasks touch-ups and repairs as the painters needs and perform all necessary duties to ensure they can remain in the paint other duties as assignedRegular attendance on-site at the work site is requiredRequired Education and Work ExperienceA high school diploma or GED equivalent is requiredPrevious experience in an aerospace automotive or industrial painting Required Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of different types of paints primers and coatings used in the aerospace with spray painting equipment and mechanical skills for equipment verbal and written communication skills (English).Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentTo perform the essential functions of the role employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility stand for long periods to perform job dutiesRegularly lift carry (short distances) and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipmentPeriodically lift overhead and carry push/pull up to 50 poundsOccasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform dutiesFrequently climb steps stairs or laddersOccasionally bend crawl stoop squat or kneelFrequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts tighten hardware & fixtures and operate machine and material handling controlsAccurately distinguish colors to respond to sensors indicators and color-variable dashboardsVisual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devicesWork is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:Moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection may be required).Dust smoke fumes and vapors (PPE such as masks or respirators may be needed).Extreme hot or cold temperatures (occasionally).Hazardous equipment including forklifts hand tools cranes or other lifting devices and other equipment used in a machine shop environment
