Packing & Shipping Operator

PGS Worldwide is seeking Packing & Shipping Operators in Elkridge Maryland for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will package process and ship production and repair parts to domestic international commercial and government customers while following military commercial and hazardous-material shipping requirements.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow complex written and verbal instructions.
• Experience using hand tools such as drills wrenches box cutters and hammers.
• Experience measuring cutting and assembling packaging materials to precise specifications.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds independently.
• Ability to participate in team lifts up to 150 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely navigate a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Excel and Word.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift crane power-tool DOT/IATA HAZMAT and applicable safety certifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established packaging and shipping procedures.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience packaging materials in accordance with MIL-STD-2073.
• Experience with military packaging or government-shipping requirements.
• Experience with SAP GOLD SharePoint or similar logistics systems.
• Experience with transportation-management systems.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-129.
• Familiarity with DOT and IATA shipping requirements.

What Youll Do

• Package production and repair parts in accordance with applicable military and commercial packaging requirements.
• Process deliveries and maintain shipping records using SAP GOLD SharePoint and related systems.
• Set up shipments using transportation-management systems.
• Create custom packaging using hand tools and power tools.
• Measure cut and assemble packaging materials to required specifications.
• Apply markings and labels in accordance with MIL-STD-2073 MIL-STD-129 and DOT/IATA requirements.
• Support domestic international commercial and government shipments.
• Maintain accurate shipping documentation and transaction records.
• Coordinate with production logistics and other support organizations to meet shipping requirements.
• Work collaboratively with other shipping-team members to support daily material flow and customer commitments.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in Elkridge Maryland.
• MondayFriday.
• First shift: 7:30 AM3:30 PM.
• Second shift: 3:00 PM12:30 AM.
• Candidates may be assigned to either shift based on business needs.

Pay

• $22.36 per hour.
