Position Details:
Rad Tech- State College PA
Location : State College PA 16801
Duration : 8 weeks Contract
Pay Range : $40- $45/hr
Shift : 8 hr day shift Mon-Fri Flexible start between 06:15 and 07:00 daily
Job Summary
Performs and processes radiographic (including portables) and fluoroscopic radiology tests.
Education:
1. Graduate of accredited Radiology Technologist program.
Experience:
1. Experience as a radiology technician required.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
1. Basic computer operational skills.
2. Strength required to assist with lifting moving and positioning of patients moving equipment and handling supplies.
3. Ability to work well with others and have a positive attitude when working with individuals who may be under physical or emotional stress.
4. Ability to hear verbal communications to read and interpret orders and document data correctly
License/Certification/Registration:
1. Current certification as a radiology technician.
2. Meets the American Heart Associations standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Essential Functions
1. Performs radiological tests as scheduled or requested with appropriate skill and in a timely manner. Has working knowledge of all equipment.
2. Obtains images using appropriate equipment. Knows how to transfer images to PACs .
3. Documents tests and procedures via computer.
4. Assists with office functions clinical functions helps anesthesia aide works with materials management performs pregnancy tests EKGs BSGs assists with case cart checks assists with room turnovers and phase II beds assists with putting away supplies from the OR cases and supplies in the receiving room and opens sterile supplies under the direct supervision of the RN/ST.
5. Monitors radiology supplies equipment certification keeps a lead apron log reports malfunctions and oversees routine equipment maintenance.
6. Checks the OR schedule daily and works with the Clinical Supervisor and Nurse Manager to provide radiology or other clinical/office coverage as needed.
7. Possesses knowledge of aseptic technique in regards to performing tests during surgery.
8. Maintains confidentiality of all records and information received in the course of work activities.
