Make a difference while providing a safe and supportive environment for youth overnight.


Bay State Community Services is seeking a compassionate dependable and motivated Overnight Youth Advocate to support adolescents in our residential program.


As an Overnight Youth Advocate you will play an important role in maintaining a safe stable and trauma-informed environment for youth during overnight hours. This position is ideal for someone interested in youth development behavioral health or human services who is comfortable working independently and remaining alert throughout the overnight shift.


What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference...

  • Provide awake overnight supervision and support to youth ages 1218.
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of youth within the residential program.
  • Conduct routine wellness and safety checks throughout the overnight shift.
  • Maintain a calm structured and supportive environment.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral concerns emergencies and crisis situations.
  • Provide support and guidance to youth as needed throughout the night.
  • Follow established program routines policies and safety procedures.
  • Complete shift logs incident reports and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate relevant information to incoming staff to support continuity of care.
  • Serve as a positive role model while treating youth with dignity respect and fairness.
  • Driving is required.
  • On rare occasions due to staffing needs employees may be asked to work their scheduled shift at another residential program in Quincy Weymouth Hingham or Plymouth.

Schedule: THU: 10PM-8AM FRI:10PM-8AM SAT: 10PM-8AM SUN: 10PM-8AM

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required)
  • Residential experience preferred
  • Experience with systems (e.g. DMH DCF) preferred
  • Additional languages desirable though not required
  • Able to learn carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions and de-escalation techniques
  • Able to learn carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid
