21.00 - 28.00 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Victorville CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Friday and Saturday: 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM

What You Bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

Education:

  • Certification: Active California Peer Support Specialist Certification.

  • Lived Experience: Personal lived experience as a consumer within the child welfare probation or mental health systems.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED HiSET etc.).

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Meet agency driver eligibility criteria

Experience & Skills:

  • One (1) year of full-time experience performing non-professional consumer-directed services.

  • Experience working within a mental health healthcare or social services agency serving individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Valid California Drivers License with an eligible driving record per company policy.

  • First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American RedCross.

How you will make a difference:

The position has primary responsibility for using their lived experience and knowledge of the system to provide outreach and engagement support advocacy and direct services to program clients of all age ranges. Peer Support Specialists are people who have lived experience in the mental health judicial and/or social service systems in some capacity. They serve as role models companions educators and advocates to our clients. The Peer Support Specialist will support clients in moving toward recovery creating a meaningful role in their life which is separate from their illness.

Division/Program Overview:

Program: The Valley Star Crisis Mobile Response Team

Population Served: Serving all age groupschildren adolescents adults and older adults

Facility & Setting: Mobile operates from 6 PM to 8 AM

Clinical Services: offering rapid mental health assessments and crisis interventions. essential services for individuals needing immediate crisis intervention and stabilization.
