Boston Higashi School is hiring Overnight Awake Instructors to support students with autism in our residential program. You do not need a degree or previous special education experience to apply. We provide training and ongoing support to help you succeed.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is dependable patient caring and interested in gaining experience in special education human services behavioral health residential care or direct support work.

As an Overnight Awake Instructor you will help provide a safe calm and supportive environment for students throughout the night and help them prepare for the day ahead.

Responsibilities include:

• Remain awake and alert throughout the overnight shift
• Complete student safety checks every 15 minutes
• Support students with personal care and daily living routines
• Help students prepare for breakfast and their transition to the school day
• Maintain a safe structured and comfortable residential environment
• Document overnight activities student needs and important information
• Communicate with overnight residential and day program staff
• Assist students with clothing belongings and room organization
• Build positive and respectful relationships with students
• Participate in required training meetings and professional development
• Follow student plans safety procedures and school policies

• Able to stay awake and attentive throughout the entire shift
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Organized and able to complete written documentation
• Professional and respectful when working with students families and coworkers
• High school diploma GED or equivalent required

No college degree required.

Previous experience in special education residential programs caregiving human services behavioral health healthcare or direct support is helpful but not required.
