Outside Technical Sales Representative

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify revenue opportunities within customers communities through communications programs and other activities as neededGenerates sales within the companys established trading partnersResponds to requests from customers for information and give presentationsProspects for and generates sales with new accountsRemains knowledgeable and up-to-date on industry trends and market competitionAny other relevant duties that may be assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum: Bachelors degree in a technical or business-related field; 5 years of sales experience and/or equivalent preferredKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Excellent time management skills required both in and out of the officeStrong desire to serve customers with a positive attitudeHigh degree of independence self-motivation and self-direction especially with regard to identifying and managing high priority projects in a fast-paced environmentMust possess the ability to think and solve problems with creative understanding. Must have a good eye for detail and be able to suggest process/specification modifications as requiredAbility to competently deliver sales presentationsUnderstand budgeting and forecasting Understand product line profitability and cost structuring in order to provide accurate estimates and pricingAble to work cooperatively with peers to achieve established goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational abilitiesBasic computer and database skills including MS Word MS Excel MS Power Point Adobe Acrobat and MS OutlookPHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting/working at a desk up to 80% Standing up to 80% Walking up to 30% Lifting up to 25 lbs. using proper body mechanics (lifting devices utilized for heavier loads) Moderate wrist deviations and repetitive hand/wrist movements Approximately 1960 hand or wrist repetitions per day Frequent use of both hands Frequent word processing and computer keyboard use Very accurate near vision (20/20) and accurate far vision (20/40) required Minimal color discrimination and depth perception required Ability to hear a whispered voice at 3 feet Exposure to moderate steady and fairly loud noise levels below 85 dB Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 8090F during summer months May be exposed to slippery work surfaces for up to 3 hours per day
