Outside Sales Representative

Summary: Sell build and maintain customer and sales base within specified territory responding to all Responsibilities:Contact and visit customers to build and maintain relationships by email phone fax letter and personal visitsCompile a list of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from account lists business directories and other sourcesGenerate written quotes with supporting correspondence to qualified prospects and follow up until the order is placed lost or opportunity is closedTalk with existing customers to determine current/future needs and current satisfaction and build a relationshipIntroduce new products to clients and prospects using samples or a catalog displays or product demonstration and emphasize salable featuresQuote prices and credit terms establish and prepare sales ordersCommunicate with the warehouse as to the estimated date of delivery of the product to the customerHelp in gathering current marketplace information on pricing products merchandising techniques etc. for Sales ManagerResolve customer complaints by investigating problems developing solutions and making recommendations to managementMaintain technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications attending educational workshops establishing personal networks and participating in professional societiesAttend sales meetings as requiredMaintain open communication with the Sales Manager as to whereabouts for scheduling purposesMaintain Outlook calendar day prepare call reports weekly and keep vehicle/maintenance log and expense accounts every monthCover customer service duties as needed in the absence of other customer service personnelOther duties as assigned by the Sales ManagerEducation and/or Experience:Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related sales or customer service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBackground in the plastic industry a plusMust have a valid drivers license and driving record that is acceptable to the companys insurance policy
