Position: Admission Counselor

Working Location: Hudson/Jersey City area and will attend the Center once a week starting with the first week of training at the Center.

Schedule Full Time 8hr shifts Monday Friday. Occasional nights and weekends/ may be required

Whatyou will be doing:Responsible for conducting direct recruitment activities and interfacingwith other outreach contractors in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

1. Conduct direct recruitment activities including public speaking; develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies recreation centers youth organizations and churches; participate in center tours; contact potential enrollees to explore enrollment.
2. Arrange for reception of candidates upon acceptance to the program.
3. Follow-up on student progress e.g. length of stay and separation.
4. Prepare schedule and provide outreach presentations in the assigned area; provide outreachpresentations in support of the regional outreach efforts.
5. Maintain accountability logs of organizations contacted individuals contacted referrals to screeningagencies and subsequent enrollments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in human services psychology counseling education social science communications or closely related field; or an associates degree in human services psychology counseling education social science communications or closely related field and two years related experience required.
• Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions
  experience with other youth development programs.
• A Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record required.
