Outreach and Intake Support Specialist

If so the Academic Success Center at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for an Outreach and Intake Support Specialist! This position will be classified as a Student Services Specialist I. The Outreach and Intake Support Specialist will support Success Navigator Academic Skills workshops Accountability Groups and other areas as needed within the Academic Success Center.

What Youll Do:

• Coordinate and implement outreach initiatives that connect students with academic support programs services and resources.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with campus departments student organizations and other partners to increase student engagement.
• Plan coordinate and deliver presentations workshops and training sessions for students and campus stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at campus events resource fairs and outreach activities.
• Create and distribute marketing and promotional materials to support programs services and events.
• Maintain social media communications and create content that increases awareness of available resources and opportunities.
• Coordinate workshop requests scheduling and related administrative processes.
• Support technology and operational processes that enhance service delivery and student engagement efforts.
• Coordinate communications enrollment activities and participant outreach for student support programs and groups.
• Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to coordinate services events and initiatives.
• Provide individualized guidance and support to students helping connect them with appropriate resources and services.
• Track and maintain records related to outreach activities workshops and program participation.
• Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an educational setting; ideally in a learning center or academic support center environment.
• Experience delivering presentations workshops training sessions or educational programs to students and other stakeholders.
• Experience utilizing databases Smartsheet or similar data management and reporting tools.
• Experience planning coordinating and promoting events programs or campus-wide initiatives.
• Experience creating marketing promotional and educational materials using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite Canva or similar platforms.

The Academic Success Center empowers students to seek academic support and collaborate with our trained peer leaders to promote impactful learning and community for all. We offer a variety of services through our office including tutoring Supplemental Instruction (SI) writing and communication consultations academic skills coaching and accountability groups. While these services are based in our office we proudly partner with academic departments and support units across campus to expand access to student support. Our peer educators are certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) Level 1 and our Supplemental Instruction program holds international accreditation a reflection of our commitment to student development and high-impact learning experiences for all.
