Outreach and Events Coordinator

Job Description

The Outreach and Events Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for the planning logistics and execution of events and engagement activities serving students faculty alumni industry partners and other external constituents for the Myers-Lawson School of Construction (MLSoC). This position is responsible for planning and executing high-quality strategically aligned events that advance the schools outreach and engagement objectives strengthen stakeholder connections and enhance brand visibility.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Outreach and Industry Engagement this position is an integral member of the schools Outreach Team
In addition to coordinating events the Outreach and Events Coordinator manages the schools promotional inventory and branded merchandise in collaboration with the Outreach team and in accordance with MLSoC and VT brand standards. This position also provides logistical support for faculty-led site visits field trips and summer camps and helps ensure the school offers a full slate of meaningful engagement opportunities that advance strategic goals and strengthen relationships with students faculty alumni friends of the school and industry. This role requires working occasionally in the evenings or on weekends in support of events.

Required Qualifications

Masters degree in marketing communications public relations hospitality event management or related field or a bachelors degree with commiserate experience.
Experience managing events and/or working with alumni/external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience coordinating venues lodging transportation and catering logistics for multiple events annually.
Experience in higher education advancement or nonprofit event planning.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience translating and aligning strategy into programs and events.
Demonstrated experience in developing post-event reports measuring attendance engagement satisfaction and ROI.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex high-visibility events.
Experience using CRM Systems (e.g. AIMS Salesforce etc.)
