POSITION SCOPE
The OTR Heavy Equipment Lube Technician will be responsible for the inspection of all fluid levels visual inspection for fluid leaks greasing equipment checking tire air pressures & visual inspections of tire condition fueling of equipment daily shift inspection of air filters & replacement if needed and cleaning of air filters. This is a labor-intensive job requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing periods of stooping bending and climbing. Travel is required.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Service and perform minor repairs on gas and diesel heavy equipment such as scrapers excavators dozers haul trucks wheel loaders water and lube trucks and other support equipment
- Check and fill fluid levels service lube points and perform routine preventative maintenance
- Maintain service repair and maintenance records
- Prepare work order and order parts as needed
- Complete daily work assignments in a timely fashion
- Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Weekend and night work may occasionally be required
- Travel will be required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Works overtime and weekends as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or the ability to acquire all endorsements
- Valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate
- Must have a valid drivers license and Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fishers Company Vehicle Program policy
- Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including above 100 degrees cold and rain
- Must have strong technical knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment repair
- Knowledge of industrial and shop safety rules and procedures
- Detail oriented organized and capable of working efficiently in a high-pressure environment with minimal or no guidance
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting before and after performing maintenance activities
- Significant training in the mechanical field
- Basic Computer Skills Required (Email Smart Phone Excel)
- Impeccable communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and backgrounds
- Travel will be required
