Job Summary
TekCom Resources is seeking anUnderground Equipment/Directional Drill Operatorfor a full-time permanent-hire role with our telecom construction client. This role will require out of town travel for 30 days at a time.
As an Underground Equipment/Directional Drill Operator you will operate heavy equipment necessary for underground fiber installation - i.e. plowing installing duct pulling fiber and burying drops.Candidates MUST have directional drilling experience to be considered for this role.This work is focused on mostly rural construction.
Your duties will include:
Safely and effectively operate Directional Drill/underground equipment for the purpose of installing fiber optics infrastructure.
Assist with location and verification of utilities prior to work.
Help keep projects on schedule and ensure quality of underground installation work meets company standards.
Participate in the maintenance of an organized warehouse and yard.
Communicate with customers on potential issues and pass that feedback along to Foreman or Construction Coordinator.
Our client would like to see this experience in your background:
At least 1-2 years of underground construction experience;utilities construction experience unrelated to telecom such as gas power and water line installation is relevant and welcome for this role!
Supervisory experience is not required but is highly valuable.
CDL licensure is VERY valuable for this role
