The Orthopedic Technician is a specially trained allied health professional who assists orthopedic surgeons working under their direction.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Certification(s): Recommend certification by the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists.

Skills Knowledge Abilities:

Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals in which orthopedic surgeons work.

Knowledge of physiology anatomy and medical terminology.

Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology.

Must be capable and willing to keep patients films and medical records confidential.

Responsible for practicing stewardship in the use of supplies.

Ability to communicate effectively. Must be effective in both oral and written communications.

Must possess the ability to meet and communicate with patients physicians and visitors courteously.

Must be a team worker.

Must be able to relate well to other people and be tolerant of their conditions.

Must actively promote harmony and good public image.

Must be able to effectively delegate tasks.
