Job Summary
Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking an organized proactive and collaborative Service Line Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Perioperative Services this vital role youll work closely with surgeons clinical staff vendors Materials Management and leadership to ensure the instruments implants and equipment needed for surgery are available and ready when patients need them.If you enjoy coordinating complex processes building relationships and helping healthcare teams deliver exceptional patient care this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What Youll Do
-Coordinate surgical case preparation by reviewing upcoming schedules and anticipating equipment implant and instrument needs
-Partner with surgeons surgical offices vendors and clinical teams to ensure all required resources are available prior to procedures
-Manage implant and consignment inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels and prevent disruptions to patient care
-Collaborate with Materials Management and Central Sterile teams to ensure instruments and implants are delivered processed and ready for use
-Serve as a key point of contact for vendors and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
-Support the introduction of new products and equipment while maintaining established approval processes
-Maintain surgical preference cards and assist with invoice tracking and approvals
-Monitor utilization trends and provide recommendations related to equipment instruments and implants
-Work alongside Perioperative Leadership to improve operating room efficiency throughput and overall performance
-Assist with budget planning reporting and operational improvement initiatives
Under supervision assists in operations. May help set up the operating room prepare and transport patients for surgery adjust lights and equipment pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons assistants hold retractors cut sutures and help count sponges needles supplies and instruments. May provide day-to-day guidance/direction to more junior staff.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support BLS - Generic - HR Only preferred Certified Surgical Technologist CST - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred Medical Technician New Hampshire License - New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy preferred
Experience
Experience at time of hire: Three (3) years of diversified experience in the operating/procedure room 3-5 years required and Experience scrubbing in multiple specialties; five (5) years of experience preferred and one (1) year of experience working and leading teams 3-5 years preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
