About The Eye Center
The Eye Center is a leading regional eye care provider serving Greenfield MA and Central Massachusetts. The practice offers premium refractive cataract surgery dry eye specialty care glaucoma management general eye care and facial medical aesthetics. The team is collaborative patient-centered and clinically accountable.
Role Overview
The Optometrist will provide comprehensive primary eye care dry eye evaluation and procedures glaucoma management and pre/post-operative surgical co-management alongside surgeons and a multidisciplinary clinical team. This is an onsite role based in Greenfield MA with first-month cross-training at the Central MA / Worcester County location.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye disease
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and disorders
- Perform dry eye evaluations and procedures
- Manage glaucoma treatment
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery
- Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive care
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage follow-up care
- Collaborate with surgeons and the broader clinical team
- Maintain ethical coding and billing practices in full compliance with regulatory standards
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
- Active or eligible optometry license in Massachusetts
- Clinically strong in refraction and refractive specialty care including glasses contacts and surgical evaluations
- Interest in comprehensive medical optometry including dry eye management glaucoma treatment and surgical co-management
- Ethical coding and compliance practices
- Strong patient-first mindset and willingness to act in patient emergencies
- Punctual professional and appropriately boundaried with clinical staff
- Collaborative open to constructive criticism and committed to continued learning
- Warm empathetic calm team-oriented demeanor
- Genuine interest in living and practicing long-term in rural Western Massachusetts
Ideal candidates may be recent graduates excited to build a patient base under mentorship or experienced ODs with dry eye glaucoma or medical optometry backgrounds.

- $125000 base for new grads/recent residency
- $140000-$160000 base for experienced candidates
- Year 1 guaranteed base; Year 2 transitions to production-based compensation
