Alcon is looking to hire a Optics Lab Engineer that will be responsible for leading managing and/or performing work across multiple engineering areas/specializations.

This role is on-site in our Fort Worth Texas location and a typical day would include:

  • Driving crossfunctional innovation with Optics Ophthalmology Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering teams to solve complex intraocular lens (IOL) and visioncorrection challenges advancing Alcons mission to help people see brilliantly.
  • Lead optical testing to fully characterize new IOL design using established and novel test methods.
  • Owning optical test equipment qualification maintenance and upgrades.
  • Analyze and interpret optical test data to be shared with design engineers to improve IOL design.

What Youll Bring To Alcon:

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 8 yrs; Assoc.4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical problems
  • Working knowledge of applied optics optical testing and scientific analysis on IOL measurement
  • Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping to improve optical test systems
  • Ability to identify and implement improvements in test methods and data processing workflows
