An ophthalmic tech works with the ophthalmologist to provide patient care by performing many different eye-related clinical functions. These may include taking histories performing various procedures and tests and preparing patient to see the doctor. The ophthalmic tech provides the ophthalmologist with important information to help diagnose and treat the Functions:Obtains medical histories from diagnostic and records eye optical and surgical the ophthalmologist in office surgical up stock and equip exam and procedure and clean rooms and equipment after each patients of test results as instructed by the list is maintained and cleared support in the department when necessary. Team to be crossed trained to cover scheduling surgeries and helping answers incoming knowledgeable of and adhere to all MMC policies and patients in helping them from the waiting room to exam patients happyAnswers all the patients patient and training other ophthalmic personnelPerformance Criteria:Ability to follow physicians orders communicate with patient in supportive manner and maintain professional to assess needs of patient and department and respond to work in a team approach toward providing quality patient to handle multiple task at one time ability to be flexible and follow detailed in effectively role modeling appropriate to learn how to operate ophthalmic equipment. This includes Sonomed A-scan IOL Master Auto-refractor Automated Lensometer Amsler grid Stereo test Ishiharas test for colour blindness worth 4 dot and glare Specifications:Must be able to work 40 hours a week starting time for ophthalmology department is 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
