Ophthalmologist

The Mayo Clinic Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible General Ophthalmologist to join an established practice within the Mayo Clinic Health System in Onalaska Wisconsin. The practice features a collaborative team of five Ophthalmologists and five Optometrists offering comprehensive services including optometry general ophthalmology cornea and glaucoma care.

This is a comprehensive general ophthalmology practice with the opportunity to manage a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. Surgical responsibilities will be tailored to the candidates training and comfort level with an expectation to perform cataract surgery. Additional opportunities may include anterior segment procedures ocular plastics and adult strabismus surgeries depending on the surgeons experience and interests.

Comprehensive Ophthalmologists as well as subspecialty-trained Ophthalmologists (Pediatrics Cornea Glaucoma Oculoplastics Neuro-Ophthalmology Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal Surgery) are encouraged to apply.

Position Details:

• Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.; surgical block time: 7:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
• 4.5-day work week
• Call rotation of 1:5
• Clinical volume of approximately 25-30 patients per day
• Surgical blocks of approximately 10-15 cases per week

• Board-eligible or board-certified Ophthalmologist
• Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency program
• Preferred fellowship training in a subspecialty area (Pediatrics Cornea Glaucoma Oculoplastics Neurology or Vitreoretinal Surgery)
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Wisconsin
• MD DO or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
