Ophthalmic Technician I

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or this role your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

What You Will Do:

• Take medical histories and verify information
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests such as applanation tonometry refraction and retinoscopy
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patients visual acuity and other vision issues
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses
• Assist with inventory management

Pay range $18-22 depending on experience

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant medical scribe patient care technician nursing assistant pharmacy technician etc.
• Experience with EMR tools
• Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook excel word)
• Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
