Description

Nemours is seeking an Ophthalmic Tech. (Downtown Orlando) (Full-Time) to join our team in Orlando Florida.

The COT provides individualized age appropriate culturally competent goal directed and family centered care in the Ophthalmological clinic. The COT completes thorough medical histories and performs ophthalmological testing and ancillary procedures within their scope of practice. Position requires a great deal of initiative and flexibility to cope with stress and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Given the level of training and experience required in their position the employee with be expected to work well independently. Employee must be extremely discreet to maintain patient confidentiality.

  1. Accurately collects health care dataanddocumentsappropriateinformationinpatient recordaccordingto policyandtrainingresources.
  2. Independently performs and accurately documents standardophthalmologicaltesting/procedureswithinCOTscope of practice.
  3. Isresponsibleforprofessional practiceanddevelopmentof selfandothers according to scope of practice.
  4. Complieswithand promotes Nemours Standards of Behavior.
  5. Providessafeandeffectivepatient/family .
  6. Performsclerical dutiesasassigned.
  7. Participates inensuringthe overallfinancialwell-being oftheDivisionof OphthalmologyandtheNemoursFoundation.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma (1 year of training beyond high school).
  • Minimum of six (5) months to one (1) year of experience required.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
  • Travel will be required to satellite locations.
